Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
There are different types of OCD. Each involves a struggle with unwanted and often distressing thoughts. Typically, attempts are made push away intrusive thoughts and carry out actions or repetitive rituals to feel less anxious or prevent something bad from happening.
Despite your efforts you can often feel more anxious and frustrated and doubt yourself. You could also be worried by the presence of unwanted thoughts and what they could mean about you.
OCD is often described as a bully. It is cruel and cunning and knows how to convince you to keep doing things that often keep you feeling anxious. Together, we can understand how your OCD operates and find ways to stand up to the bully so it no longer interferes with your daily life.
