Individualised Therapy For...

My Approach

Therapy is a collaborative process and aims to help you make sense of the main issues you are experiencing and find ways to overcome them as team. I provide a friendly and non-judgmental environment that enables people to feel comfortable discussing areas of difficulty.

There are many psychotherapeutic approaches. I am trained to deliver one of the most widely prescribed forms of psychological therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).

With a strong evidence-base for common and severe mental health problems, CBT has been shown to be effective for depression and anxiety disorders including obsessive-compulsive disorder, social anxiety, low self-esteem, health anxiety, panic disorder, body dysmorphic disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder.

CBT is highly adaptive to an individual’s needs and draws from a wide range of theoretical models. It helps to reach a shared understanding of different problems in a way that is easy to grasp and identifies key areas to focus on.

We will work together and incorporating your strengths to build resilience and prevent your problems from holding you back.

Services

Individual Therapy

Individual appointments focusing on your main difficulties. You begin with a full assessment to establish a shared understanding of your primary complaints and decide how we will move forward in treatment to reach your goals.

Mental Health Workshops

A regular monthly schedule of psycho-educational workshops to help you understand a range of common challenges people face. You will learn new ways of coping to help feel more confident in situations you currently find difficult.

Book an Appointment

Once you have submitted the form below I will contact you to arrange a 15-20 minute introduction call. We can discuss the main reasons for you seeking support and how we want to proceed. If I feel a different approach would be more beneficial, I will discuss this with you and provide the relevant information.

  • Individual therapy and psycho-educational workshops for a range of challenges related to common mental health problems.

At this time both are available online. Face-to-face appointment will be available in the future but will depend on your location.

  • Individual sessions - £70

    Workshops - £15

Payment for individual sessions is taken in advance in blocks of four.

  • Typically, individual therapy sessions run up 50-55 minutes. Depending on the nature of the problem is can be beneficial to book a double session.

Workshops are 2.5 hours with a short break.

  • I aim for clients to see a meaningful in change over the course of 6 to 12 sessions. However, some difficulties may be more enduring and need more time.

  • In short, no. So far, the research shows no significant difference in the efficacy of remote sessions compared to those in person. There are many factors that make therapy effective.

Some people may have a preference for a number of reasons but a key factor is the level of engagement in therapy.

  • We can book a 15-20 minute introduction call to have a brief discussion about your main reasons for seeking support and decide if my approach would be beneficial for you.

  • If you would like to arrange a regular appointment I will send a therapy contract, details for payment, and an agreed time for our weekly sessions.
