Perfectionism

What is Perfectionism?

Perfectionism itself is not a mental health disorder but a personality trait that may be playing significant role in your overall mood and wellbeing, and often leads to stress, Anxiety, and Depression.

Expectations of yourself and others may have become excessively high despite seeing them as acceptable or the norm. You may feel you just need to try harder in order to reach them. This can often result in distress in areas of your life such as work or relationships, and often managed by further attempts to reach those standards.

In our sessions, we can clarify how perfectionism plays out in your life and learn how it took root. We can understand how useful it has been in the past and how helpful it is now. Together, we will navigate this and find new and sustainable strategies that work for you.
